Fig

Hailing from the southern suburbs of Detroit, Fig has gained substantial critical acclaim for an unsigned artist…The band is made up of pros that have equal touring experience...They have recently been playing select shows for the industry and opening slots for national acts in hopes of landing a deal or a production agreement…Fig has plans to record a new EP in Chicago in early 2004, backed by none other than Chip Z’Nuff and Ricky Parent, both of Enuff Z’Nuff fame!  The remaining part of 2003 will be spent performing solo acoustic shows….The next showcase (for Static Records)will be Friday, December 26, 2003 at Jacoby’s in Detroit opening for Bob Gentry of Moisture.  Showtime is 9:30.

****Fig has a current (as of 11/29/2003) rating on garageband.com of 4.8 stars of five.  Garageband is considered to be one of the most accurate charts for independent music.  If was recently picked as a Top 50 website by Time magazine.

Fig’s songs have been selected twice (out of over 95,000 entries) as the “track of the day.”

***Please note that the songs on garageband are under the name The One Hitters due to a now-resolved copyright problem.  The songs appear on Fig’s CD.

****Here is what the critics have said…

Eleanor Rigby meets Aerosmith
"Wow. These guys are very big on pop music history. This is one hell of a tight band! I just love that Eleanor Rigby, Beatles cello confection inserted into the middle of the driving hard rock verse of Good Together Brings. Great opening with the pedal point guitar note. The guitarist knows not to overplay his hand on this CD, which happens with a lot of hard rock bands. He knows when to keep quiet and when to turn it on (he really lets go on the solos) The lead vocalist sounds like his voice is doubled on most tracks, which isn't a bad thing at all. His voice is up there with some of the lead vocalists for such bands as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Metallica and Kiss. Everything is clicking here. The songs are very catchy. It's a "5" all the way!"
